Summer 2024
President's Report
Dear Property Owners,
Our board has been working hard to get our reservation ready for the summer season. We have a crew of eight lifeguards hired for July and August thanks to volunteer Jon Tarbet. Our board member, Dan Aharoni, has decided to step down from the beach committee head role, however will still be a director on the board. Director Roey Ficaro has kindly stepped up to take on the beach committee head role. Thank you to Dan for his many years of service as the beach committee head and also thank you to Roey for taking on the additional responsibility. Roey, together with volunteers Jon Tarbet, Sooyoung Choi, and Ryan Lang will be managing the lifeguarding staff this year.
The food trucks were a hit last year and the board has been working on having a truck come regularly on Fridays and/or Saturdays. We had a vendor setup but they fell through with short notice. Director Michael Waltz was able to get two trucks to cover Friday, Saturday and Sunday for Memorial Day which was a very well attended by members. I was there Friday night to enjoy some tacos and the amazing sunset. I believe that was the most members I have seen at the reservation for Memorial Day weekend in a long while. Thank you, Michael, for setting that up for us. Be on the lookout for Mailchimp emails and Facebook posts announcing any additional dates for food trucks at the reservation.
All the usual activities and events we typically have will be occurring again this year. Be sure to read the other board member reports in the newsletter to find out the details. This year’s Jim Carforo Annual Beach Picnic will be held on Saturday July 13th staring at 4pm at the reservation. Our Annual Meeting of the Members will be held on Saturday July 27th starting at 10am with the location to be announced later. We decided to move to a new location this year because the Springs School’s WiFi has prevented us from holding the Zoom portion of the meeting in the past. This year’s board elections will be announced either by USPO mail or by email depending on how you indicated you wanted to vote. We will be using ElectionBuddy again this year for those members who opted to vote electronically.
Best Regards,
Kurt Miller,
